After quality of service requirements are written, they must be validated to ensure that they adequately represent the user problem to be solved. The subject matter expert and architect perform the review. The subject matter expert provides expertise on the user domain. The quality of service requirements are also validated to ensure they can be implemented in the project without any confusion or problems. If any problems are spotted, the quality of service requirements are fixed so that they are valid at the conclusion of this activity.

- Quality of service requirements are written.

Validate Quality of Service Requirements Against User Domain |
- The subject matter expert and architect review each quality of service requirement item in the context of the user domain to validate that all items adequately represent the user problem to be solved. If an item is not valid, it is revised so that it is valid. Review each item for the following characteristics.
- Each item can be traced to its origin in the user's problem domain.
- Each item satisfies a specific part of the problem solution and is not obscured by proposed solutions to the problem.
- All items needed to specify the solution to the problem have been identified.

Validate Quality of Service Requirements Against Project |
- The subject matter expert and architect review each quality of service requirement item in the context of the project to validate that all items can be implemented successfully. If an item is not valid, it is revised so that it is valid. Review each item for the following characteristics:
- Each item can be implemented with the available techniques, tools, resources, and within cost and schedule.
- There is a single interpretation for each item, and the meaning is easily understood.
- No item conflicts with another item.
- Each item is testable.
