    Validate Quality of Service Requirements Against User Domain

    • The subject matter expert and architect review each quality of service requirement item in the context of the user domain to validate that all items adequately represent the user problem to be solved. If an item is not valid, it is revised so that it is valid. Review each item for the following characteristics.  
    • Each item can be traced to its origin in the user's problem domain.
    • Each item satisfies a specific part of the problem solution and is not obscured by proposed solutions to the problem.
    • All items needed to specify the solution to the problem have been identified.

    Validate Quality of Service Requirements Against Project

    • The subject matter expert and architect review each quality of service requirement item in the context of the project to validate that all items can be implemented successfully. If an item is not valid, it is revised so that it is valid. Review each item for the following characteristics:
    • Each item can be implemented with the available techniques, tools, resources, and within cost and schedule.
    • There is a single interpretation for each item, and the meaning is easily understood.
    • No item conflicts with another item.
    • Each item is testable.

    Exit Criteria

    The quality of service requirements are validated for the user domain and for implementation in the project.
