Form Core Team

  • Identify a core team who will lead the project from start to finish. The core team is responsible for the flow of the project; delivering a product that meets the product vision.

Decide Whether the Project has its Own Organization

  • Will the project leverage functional teams or will it build its own organization?
  • If it will have its own organization, then create an organization chart with a set of open positions for the required skills and knowledge.

Solicit Resource Commitments

  • Optional
  • If utilizing functional groups, solicit commitments for dedicated staffing to meet the needs of the project knowledge and skills.

Publish Open Positions

  • Optional
  • Advertise open positions on the project in a manner appropriate to the organization. Are you hiring internally or externally?

Fill Open Positions

  • As called for in the project plan, recruit staff for open positions.
  • Continually assess ability to recruit people into open positions for potential risk.
