On the Visual Studio Team menu, click Team Explorer. |

In Team Explorer, expand your team project folder, and then the Documents folder. |

In the Requirements folder, double-click the QoS Requirements.xsl spreadsheet. The spreadsheet opens in Microsoft Excel. |

Create a requirement in the blank row with the asterisk "*" by filling in the columns as follows. |

Leave the Work Item ID blank. This is automatically generated. |

Set the Work Item Type to Quality of Service Requirement. |

Set the Quality of Service Type to the appropriate type of Load, Other, Performance, Platform, Security, or Stress. |

Set the Rank to an appropriate value (1, 2, or 3). |

Enter a Title. |

Enter a description of the quality of service requirement in the Summary cell. |

Leave the Assigned To cell blank, unless the requirement is ready to be assigned. |

Set the State to Active. |

Repeat step 4 for as many requirements as you need to create. |

On the Work Items menu, click Publish Changes. This will commit the new quality of service requirements to the work item database. |
