About Qualities of Service

Qualities of service models the idea that consumer value is generated not only by functional requirements expressed as scenarios of use, but by non-functional requirements expressed as qualities of service of operation. A quality of service mindset is fundamental to the MSF focus on delivering value. MSF for CMMI® Process Improvement elevates qualities of service to the status of customer requirements. Qualities of service can be significant product differentiators and revenue generators. Ignoring or relegating qualities of service to a product requirements role leaves a lot of potential value on the table.
