Triage is the process used to review newly reported or reopened bugs and assign a priority and iteration to them. Triage is driven by the project manager with input from the other members of the development team.
Entry Criteria
Dependencies:
- At least one bug is newly reported or reopened.

Generate Bug List |
- Query the bug tracking system for newly reported and reopened bugs.

Review Bugs |
- Review each bug found and, with input from development, testing, and product management, determine the importance of fixing each one to the goals of the project and the current iteration.

3 |
Assign Priority to Fix and Iteration |
- Assign a priority to fix and iteration to each bug to allow the development team to schedule and address the bug in a timely fashion.

4 |
Reproduce Dubious Bugs |
- Optional
- If a bug report is unclear or the true impact of the bug is uncertain, the program management team should attempt to reproduce the bug so that they have a good understanding of its real impact and reproducibility.

Exit Criteria
|
All newly reported and reopened bugs are reviewed and assigned a priority and iteration. | |
